 We are delighted to be able to offer great opportunities for sculptors with a continuing program of exciting short courses run by professional sculptors. These are in addition to our regular studio life drawing and free form and casting sessions that can be found on the studio page. You can book online from this page. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Once we receive your reservation and payment we will confirm your place.

 Sculpting the Figure in Clay

Five  Days –  Thursdays – April 9, 16, 23, 30 May 7

10am – 4pm each day

The human figure is diverse and fascinating to sculpt and this course, working with the  life model, takes you from the bare armature to a finished 1/3  size sculpture. All levels of experience are welcome. Options for casting or hollowing work will be discussed at the end of the course.

All levels of experience welcome

  • Those interested in resin casting their finished work at the studio will need to enrol on the  Casting  course

Fascinated with the human face? If you have an interest in portraiture this course is for you. Regardless of your level of experience, this course will further your observational skills of the head and clarify how to translate this knowledge to achieve a greater likeness of the sitter.

Learn to Mould and Cast your Work

Ongoing during term times 

  •  10am – 1pm each day  or 2pm – 5pm – ongoing most days.
  •  Get in touch to book your sessions
  • Suitable for those wanting to learn resin casting in bronze or a variety of other finishes
  • £210 per 6 x 3hr sessions. Depending on the project, casting work can often require 6 or more sessions.  Materials are charged separately as per usage.                              
  • Learn step by step the method to create a silicone and resin mould from your work. The mould can be then used to take multiple casts of your work either in bronze resin or other finishes or for the purpose of casting waxes for the bronze foundry.
